«Chronique d’une Galerie Sur Fond de Guerre» repassa la trajectòria de la Galeria des dels seus inicis al 1979 fins la seva clausura al 2009. D’una elegantíssima qualitat artística posa en paral·lel la realitat social i política que va viure el país a l’hora que nombrosos artistes exposàvem les nostres inquietuds a les seves parets, camins que de forma inevitable de vegades es creuaven. Resulta un llibre molt valuós per entendre i apreciar millor l’art contemporani del Mig Orient i la seva evolució.
I les apostes atrevides i a la vegada simpàtiques i interessants que va fer l’Amal, com un cop a l’any una col·lectiva per Nadal «Les artistes s’amusent» («Els artistes es diverteixen») o «El mur dels artistes».
“Chronique d’une Galerie Sur Fond de Guerre”takes you through the life trajectory of the Gallery from its beginnings in 1979 until it closed in 2009. With an extremely elegant artistic quality, it shows the parallels between the socio-political reality that the country was living with the extensive number of artists that exhibited our concerns on her walls. Paths that eventually, at some point, had to meet each other. This book is a must, to be able to understand and appreciate better Middle Eastern contemporary art and its evolution.
And the daring, kind and interesting art for which Amal usually bet, like her annual collective exhibition for Christmas «Les artistes s’amusent» («Artists have fun») or «The wall of artists».
